Hitson’s Walk-Off Grand Slam Lifts Chargers Over Snead State
It was a thrilling night at Dave Hall Field on Tuesday as the Chargers Baseball team pulled off a dramatic 11-9 victory over Snead State, capped by a walk-off grand slam from Cade Hitson.
In a back-and-forth battle that went the full nine innings, the Chargers saved their best for last. Trailing late, Cade Hitson delivered the heroics with a towering grand slam in the bottom of the ninth to seal the win. Hitson finished the night 1-for-5, but made that one hit count, driving in four runs and scoring twice.
Clint Seymore added to the offensive firepower, going 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs, and a run scored. Arturo Rodriguez continued his hot hitting with a 2-for-4 performance, including a home run, two RBIs, and a run. Anthony Pastrana, Brady Hendrix, and Tristan Griggs each chipped in with a hit apiece to round out a well-balanced team effort at the plate.
With the win, the Chargers improve to 23-20 overall and 14-9 in TCCAA play, placing them fifth in the current conference standings.
Next up, the Chargers will host Motlow State in a key TCCAA weekend series at Dave Hall Field. Game one is set for Friday at 4 p.m., followed by a Saturday doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m.
